- Booties on, floors covered, every visit.
- Emergency help, around the clock.
We Work Inside the House
Residential and Small Commercial Plumbing Repair
Most plumbing trouble starts small and quiet. A faucet that drips at night, a drain that runs slow for a month, a water heater that takes longer to come back than it used to. Opus handles both ends of it, the repair and the replacement, for homeowners and for small commercial spaces like restaurant kitchens and offices.
The work is done under Massachusetts master plumber license 16813-PL-M. Eleven services sit below. Pick the one that matches what’s happening, or scroll to the symptoms if you’re not sure what you’re looking at yet.

Water Heaters, Drains, Leaks and Emergency Work
Gas and electric tanks sized for the house, not for whatever the supply house has on the shelf. Water heater installation has the permit, the inspection and the haul-away inside the quoted number, and same day is possible when the schedule allows.
Kitchen sinks, tubs, floor drains and the clog that keeps coming back every few weeks. Drain cleaning means interior lines and cleanouts, with camera work where it tells us something a snake won’t.
Toilets, faucets, sinks, tubs, showers, garbage disposals and outdoor spigots all sit under fixture repairs, because most calls bring more than one of them along.
Water showing on a ceiling almost never started at the ceiling. Leak detection tracks it back to the source, then repairs or repipes that run in copper or PEX.
Restaurant kitchens, offices and small retail. Small commercial is service and repair scheduled around your hours, not new construction bid work.

Not Sure Which One You Need?
Common Symptoms and Where They Go
Homeowners describe what they can see, not what’s broken. Here’s the translation.
Usually the heater. Sometimes the gas valve or a tripped breaker. Start with water heater repair.
A cleared clog that returns is a clog that never fully cleared. That’s drain cleaning with a camera.
Something upstream is wet and has been for a while. Go to leak detection.
Either the pump isn’t running or there isn’t one. That’s sump pump installation.
Shut your main valve first, then call. That’s emergency plumbing, day or night.
If you don’t know where your main shutoff is, ask us on the first visit. We’ll point it out and show you which way it turns before we leave.
The House Comes First
A Licensed Plumbing Contractor for Homes and Small Businesses
Opus works on houses first and small commercial second. Restaurant kitchens, offices and small retail get the same service and repair work, scheduled after hours when a shutdown would cost you a night’s covers.
Here’s the line, and it’s a real one. We work on the plumbing inside your building. Once a pipe passes the foundation and heads for the street, that’s a municipal drain layer’s license, issued town by town, and it isn’t one we hold. No sewer laterals, no water service lines, no trenching in the yard. You’ll hear that on the phone instead of after a truck is in your driveway.
A list this long can look like a shop that does a bit of everything and none of it well. Water heaters and boilers are where Ricky spent close to twenty years in the trade. The rest is standard residential work a master plumber runs every week.
What's Already Inside the Number
What Comes With Every Job
The permit and the inspection
In Massachusetts, a water heater or boiler install needs a licensed plumber to pull the permit, and the job gets inspected after. We pull it, meet your town’s inspector, and hand you the signed card. You aren’t billed by the hour while we wait on a Tewksbury inspector.
A full year on labor and materials
Both, not just the part. If something we installed fails inside twelve months, we come back and it costs you nothing.
Answered around the clock
Nights, weekends, holidays. A person, not a menu.
Priced before anything comes apart
One number, in writing. If the job changes once a wall is open, we stop and requote before we go further.
What Homeowners Ask Us First
Questions About Plumbing Services in Middlesex County
- What plumbing services do you offer?
Eleven of them: water heater installation and repair, tankless installation and descaling, drain cleaning, sump pumps, fixture repairs, leak detection and repiping, frozen and burst pipes, 24/7 emergency work, and small commercial service. Boilers and heating aren't on that list. Boiler replacement and boiler service and repair are the heating side of the business, run under the same license.
- Do you fix all types of plumbing problems?
Inside the building, yes. Outside it, no. Anything that needs digging in the yard, like a sewer lateral or a water service line, needs a town drain layer's license that we don't carry. We'll say so before you book rather than after.
- Do you work on commercial buildings?
Small ones. Restaurant kitchens, offices and small retail, for service and repair calls. We don't take industrial work, high-rise, municipal or new construction rough-ins.
- Do I need a licensed plumber, or can a handyman do this?
For a water heater, a boiler, or any gas work, Massachusetts requires a licensed plumber or gas fitter, and the permit can only be pulled by one. For a slow drain or a running toilet the law is looser, but an unpermitted install can follow you into an insurance claim or a closing.
- How soon can someone get here?
The phone is answered 24/7 by a real person, and emergencies get moved to the front of the schedule. Actual arrival depends on where you sit in the radius and what's already booked, so we give you a window when you call rather than a promise we'd have to walk back.

How We Leave Your Home After a Plumbing Job
Plumbing lives in the worst parts of a house, and every trip down the cellar stairs comes back up through the rest of it on somebody’s boots. Booties go on at the door, every visit, including the ten-minute ones. Drop cloths go down before anything comes apart, whether that’s a disposal under a kitchen sink, a toilet coming off its flange, or a water heater in a finished basement. Your old unit leaves in our truck. Before we pack up, the floor where we stood gets wiped. The standard is simple: when we pull out, you should be able to tell what we fixed and nothing else.

“Had a leak in my water heater tank. Ricky and team arrived very quickly, same day to assess the situation. I asked if we could avoid swapping out the water heater and just buy the parts needed to fix (I was being cheap!) – he did he absolute best (a few hours) trying to extract the old part and replace it with a new one. He tried far longer than any other plumber would have tried. After several hours of attempts we all came to the conclusion that it simply wasn’t coming out. I ran to Home Depot (it was Saturday) and grabbed a water heater. Ricky and team had it installed within 15 minutes and my new unit is working perfectly.
Very impressed with Ricky’s transparency and honesty. Most others wouldnt have given me the time of day…”
